Why Start a New Elementary and Middle School?
It’s a question we at 4Points Academy often get asked when we meet with parents. After all, our school is located in a good school district, with high achieving schools. Yet even with the success of these public schools, there are still certain things that parents acknowledge are missing:
At 4Points Academy we provide our students with a safe and nurturing environment that allows them to flourish and grow, and we provide our parents with visibility to and a voice in navigating their child’s learning. At 4Points, we emphasize core subject mastery and and provide small class sizes to enable individual student attention. We provide specialist teachers who can instill a depth of knowledge in our student’s learning, and we offer 1-1 technology, foreign languages, art, music, sports mechanics, and more, … in order to give our students a well-rounded academic experience. We also take the additional steps to understand each student, to identify the student’s needs, and to foster an environment that that will allow each student to grow into confident, compassionate, courageous, and committed young men and women. We go beyond the academics to emphasize cultural diversity, global awareness, information technology skills, business and financial literacy, public speaking and presentation skills, as well as proper handwriting, posture, manners, use of eye contact, and yes, even a firm handshake!
Another important way we distinguish from public schools is that we do not waste valuable classroom time teaching to a standardized test. There is no STAAR exam to focus on. Instead, there is a continuous focus on each student and meeting their academic and social needs.
Why all of this? Because we want our students to be confident and articulate, to be “book smart” as well as “world smart”. We want our students to be 21st century students, academically and socially ready for high school, college, and beyond.
Are we a great educational option? Without a doubt, we are – we know so! We encourage you to come and see for yourself. Have your child experience the academic journey that will prepare them for their future success.

- The need to have less students in a classroom so that the teachers are actually able to understand and address the needs of every child in their care.
- The need to shift the focus back to teaching rather than focusing on getting students ready to pass the STAAR test, which brings anxiety to a large number of students and their parents each year.
- There is also that “X” factor, where many parents articulate that their child is not being challenged or that their child’s needs are just not being addressed, and how difficult it is for the child or the parent to really be heard in a large school environment.

Expansion of School and Afterschool Programs to Benefit the Community
Hello parents,
Fall is finally here! Regardless of whether your child attends school or is home schooled, there is often the need for a good quality afterschool care and/or for academic support for the children. For some children, weekly academic help with general schoolwork and/or homework is needed to ensure the child keeps up with and/or stays ahead of the material being taught in their classes.
The recent combination of 4Points Academy and the IQuest programs (collectively, the “Center”) enables the Center to provide great options for both regular school academics and afterschool care and enrichment. IQuest has been serving kids in Steiner Ranch and the surrounding communities for the past 5 years, providing after school care and enrichment classes, including Singapore Math, Reading and Writing, Spanish and Chinese (Mandarin), Art, and camps and other special programs. Both 4Points Academy and IQuest share the same philosophy of having small class sizes, with instruction tailored to, and based on, the individual student’s academic ability. Both programs offer a warm and nurturing environment for children to grow into globally minded citizens. The two programs are thus a natural complement to each other.
Expanded School and After-School Offerings
IQuest continues to offer its flagship afterschool care program, “MindQuest”, with full week or partial week options available. Students enrolled in MindQuest are provided with homework help, enrichment classes, and supervised playtime, each day. Shuttle pickup from area schools are also available for MindQuest students. Along with the core enrichment classes, the afterschool program now offers
Middle School and High School Spanish and Chinese, designed to aid MS and HS students to successfully complete their foreign language requirement for graduation, including obtaining AP credit, where possible. Further, the afterschool program offers expanded tutoring in Math (K-12) and Exam Prep classes, such as PACE Prep. Other programs of interest to children are also being introduced throughout the Fall. Interested parents should visit our afterschool program registration website www.iquestaustin.com to learn more about these offerings.
4Points Academy has also expanded its offerings to provide (i) flexible enrollment options for home-school families and travelling students and (ii) a flexible morning Kindergarten (advanced pre-K to K) program that includes Spanish language instruction.
At the core of both the school and afterschool programs are highly qualified and dedicated teachers, who understand the importance of individualized teaching in a group setting (differentiation!). Parents of kids who have recently been in the program have commented on the quality of the teachers and positive benefits/results obtained by their child as a result of their enrollment in the programs. The combined programs now provide a comprehensive one-stop educational alternative for parents in the North-West Austin area.
To learn more about the school and our philosophy and vision for both the elementary/middle school and the afterschool/camp programs, attend our Open House, this Friday, August 25th or give us a call at 512-991-7950.
